"You are not alone. We may be miles apart, but we are all going through something similar. Together, we can find strength and healing."

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy where a small group of individuals with similar concerns or issues come together to receive therapeutic support. In a group therapy setting, a trained therapist leads the sessions, providing guidance and creating a safe and supportive environment for the participants.
The group typically consists of around 6 to 12 individuals, although group sizes can vary. Participants can be dealing with a wide range of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, or other mental health issues. The group members may share a common diagnosis or struggle, or they may have different backgrounds and experiences.
Groups may take on several different formats—they may be more psychoeducation-based or more process based. In either scenario, the group lead works to create a sense of safety and community amongst the group so participants feel comfortable sharing thoughts, feelings, and experiences with the group. Group therapy provides a sense of community and belonging as participants realize they are not alone in their struggles.
The therapist's role in group therapy is to create a safe environment, facilitate discussions, promote healthy communication and interaction among group members, and guide the therapeutic process. They may introduce specific therapeutic techniques or exercises to address the group's needs and help participants develop coping skills, improve self-awareness, and make positive changes in their lives.
